Had a great plan, walked at least 10 different fields, all in old areas, all on the water, and it just didn't work out. One place was a group of about 6 and I think one did have an early site but was already hunted.

We'll be out in a few days, with a new plan, and some oldies to post!

we didn't do that bad, no banners but it wasn't a complete loss, we didn't score any Georgies or military relics, but we did give 110% in the search and our finds weren't a loss in my books, although we could have done somewhat better, I guess the end of this week will tell the tale

my quarter was a 1874 and the NS half cent cleaned up ok too.......but it still isn't what we like to find, soon ole buddy soon!

oh and btw......that Vicky quarter wasn't my big silver find, it's still to come, so watch out Pa guys!!!

Talk about a hilarious post, you guys on the east coast must have something in your drinking water. As for your hunt, i'd say you were due for a reality check. Your last couple of hunts were unbelievable, you got yourself some real keepers. Having said that, I still think you did well. The jews harp is a great relic, and a few coppers are always nice to see. Keep'em comming!.

Totally agree, .... not about the water , the luck changing. It had to happen sooner or later because pretty much every hunt I've been on for weeks and weeks has turned up some great stuff. We plan quite a few more digs before freeze up and each day we go out with new sites in mind so we're bound to hit something. Just as I typed that sentence a place I've been looking at jumped in my mind again, maybe it's a sign it's the one. It was one of the places we had planned to take the Patriot but luckily didn't make it that far. That worked out well for another reason because this particular field is probably corn or beans and then it was no doubt still planted, but now I'm thinking it's ready to go. It's a large field on the water, has a bit on an inlet, and is right beside a place we did an older site years ago. Yep, I think it's going to be the one.

Hummmmm deep water access for shipping and trading boy I must say you are going down my line of hunting now. Sounds like a place for something good to me buddy.I always like these places around the water as thats HOW THEY GOT STUFF HERE! Hope it turns out for you!

Gotcha, glad you were able to get out were in for a flood of rain next few. Got me some oystering in today as probably I won't get a chance rest of the week! Maybe we could change the menu to Oysters sounds more appetizing to me.

Just make sure to save some of that acid rain. (makes good stew base)

Iron Patch, whilst I ignore the parade photo as best I can, kindly tell me about those coins and relics pictured there. Were they found today??

One is an 1830 Halfpenny, the other an 1815 Canadian colonial token. Two are blank. Relics are a jews harp, and maybe a candle holder. Nothing too impressive for the day.

I think it maybe a gate bolt hole, not sure of the proper name. Put it on its side & the bolt slotted into it.
