June has not been a productive month for me, so starting this morning, I am picking up the slack by going out there before work. That was the case today and I brought in two more silver coins. The first was a mercury dime, and after rescanning the hole with my probe, it sounded like there could be another item in there. I pulled out what I thought was a wheatie, and into the clad bag it was going to go...........but I looked at it a second time and saw what I knew was an Indian Head. No big deal for most..........but for me it is a definate first. I don't even know what they sound like or come up as on my machine. I finally have one I can test out.

Nice going, Ricardo. I love digging Injuns. I don't find them as often as silver, so it's a welcome surprise. Many have a zinc'y sound to them on the Explorers.

I LOVE DIGGING INDIANS!!! and believe it or not sometimes under the right conditions they come out in beautiful condition after a brief oil soak...On my Whites they ring in at 59-65 on the VDI numbers. Nice job!

Nice Job on your FIRST

cograts on the Indian nice find, I have not found one yet so I got one out of my collection and threw in the yard and now I know why I haven't found one it read 16-19 on my fisher which is aluminum.

I know how you feel Ricardo.....I found my first this past weekend,my first Fatty,1864,couldn't have been a better year for me.This one sounded a little funny to me to tell you the truth.Congrat's on the Quick Hunt and your first IH......Happy for Ya

Congrats on your first Indian. Now you should be able to find some more. Indians and early wheats will give you a different reading depending on the type of soil they are in. (PH of 7 is neutral below 7 is acidic and above is alcaline)The conductivity will vary because of the amount of copper oxide on the coin. Once the coin starts to oxidize there is less copper and more oxide, hence the difference in the readings. If the coin is oxidized really bad then it may only read in the upper pull-tab range. I hope this helps.

OOOO yah thats a sweet find congrats

Congratulations, it's a good feeling to pull your first of any old coin. I just dug my first IH about a week ago. As soon as this happens, you immediately start looking for another. Super coin!!
