I went after breakfast to the spot I found the cuff-link. My son was working so I was by myself.

I was here also the day after I bought my Deus, its a little tough hunting but its my element, very serine. I found a 1919 S Merc, a 1873 Indian Head Cent and seven wheats. I still have to clean up for dates and check to see if I got lucky on the 1873 Open Indian, I need to make sure weather I have double die variety or not. The Merc is a low mint, but she is very worn, still a cool date and San Francisco mint not usual for my area.
Enjoy the pix

I enjoy those indians, good luck on the double die!

Remember when I had pocketfuls of those Indian head pennies. now its my favorite coin that hides from me

Nice hunt Brad. That almost looks like what I find, except the IHC. I have only found 4 IHCs this year, but I got 20 Mercs and hundreds of Wheaties.

I will be off of work for the next 4 days. Hopefully upon my return, I will have some new treasure to report. I don't have a computer at home, so I only TNet while at work. Smittyman is putting us together a hunt for tomorrow morning, as I write this. I have had good luck with him lately, hopefully the trend will continue. After Beez found the Morgan last week, I have sorta lost interest in hunting with him... painful memories combined with utter jellyiousness!

Good word, huh? Jellyiousness... just rolls off of the tongue.

Post says "1991" Merc... that is a super rare Merc... key date, I think! Just couldn't resist...

GL&HH!

Good hunt man. Don't see those 1991 mercs often :laughing7: jk I'm sure there's more good stuff hidden in there if all those coins were found.

I can see Liberty pretty good, she is going to have to soak a few days, but I can tell she is going to come out nice. Then I'll be able to tell. Thanks

I like that word jellyiousness, but don't understand "1991" Are you dyslexic or have double vision?
Wish you guys could come up and help me clean this place out!
Thanks tom glad your doing better with your jellyiousness, now you need to work on your numbers.

I have another really nice area in the woods where I found my shield nickle, I'll be back there next week. Thanks

Iv'e found seven silvers off the top of my head in there, that was my first Indian, lost count of wheats. I'll be in there until it gets warm again, I don't want to mess with the ticks and chiggers. Did you have a bout with a bee and it gave you date dyslexia like Tom? If you get bored looking at snow come on down and find some silver, a little bird told me there is 90's silver in there. Haaaaaa lol
Thanks buddy.

Nice finds congrats on the early merc.

Looks like you had a good day. You must have been missed by the noreaster storm that just came through. Were getting it now in NY.

Man that soil looks sandy! I would imagine it's pretty kind to the coppers. Great hunt Brad. We have a little snow here now, but I am probably still gonna try tomorrow.
Your pics remind me of The Soprano's episode " The Pine Barrens ". That was one of my favorites.

We got tons of rain, I think it helped make those coins pop.

This time of year I like it in there. Next year I might sit in there in a tree with my crossbow, allot of nice deer in there. One of the wheats I still have not been able to get a date off of it. Looks like it might be 1909, the other one is a 1913 and two 1925's. Another 1944, 1932, and a 1952D There are some scenes from "boardwalk empire" that remind me of that place, lol Thanks Dave

I wish you and Travis could have been there with me. There are still allot of areas in there we have not stepped foot in. I believe I'm going to find some seated in there. Try to free up Sat. and Sun. to go in there with us.

Now it's hell, not too long ago it was heaven to ya. Someday you'll be able to beebop around and detect the world. Next summer that's exactly what I'll be doing. I found two possible swimming holes that George and Martha were skinny dipping in, now its Mercs this summer will be early American silver and maybe my hammered coins. That cold must have something to do with date dyslexia?

Thanks Kris, I'm going to keep hitting it while the weather is good, it won't last forever.
