I went after breakfast to the spot I found the cuff-link. My son was working so I was by myself.

I was here also the day after I bought my Deus, its a little tough hunting but its my element, very serine. I found a 1919 S Merc, a 1873 Indian Head Cent and seven wheats. I still have to clean up for dates and check to see if I got lucky on the 1873 Open Indian, I need to make sure weather I have double die variety or not. The Merc is a low mint, but she is very worn, still a cool date and San Francisco mint not usual for my area.
Enjoy the pix

Hello Sgt. Tee. I am just up the road from you and only have an inch to 1 1/2. I am thinking strongly about going to find some fields with no hunters, lol. The snow makes it easy to grid as you can see where you have walked. We will have to get together some day in the spring if you want. Good luck.

Any time, Where about are you?? There is a small park in Delano that I hit once in awhile and a baseball field. The park gives up silver once in awhile.maybe you know where I am talking about?? Do you ice fish. I will hopefully be doing that soon. To go dirt fishing any time. I was at Maunch Chunk this year for the first time. There are so many woods around here to hunt that I have not been, Sounds good. I have another friend that we went together a couple of times but I can tell he is not into big time. he bought a minelab Se pro and knows nothing about metal detecting. I told him too much machine for starting out. I just bought a MXT off of the forum and it arrives today. Stay in touch....Pete

I think you nailed it, serene. That's the whole thing in a nutshell. I go to places where I can capture some semblance of that feeling. Sometimes I have to settle for close. But, when I get it, I'll go back to that place over and over regardless of what might be left.

You have the best of both worlds in a place like that, the serenity AND you're finding some nice targets!

WTG!

I am on my way out the door...well,after one more cup of coffee that is.:laughing7:

Are you digging in the snow. Around 6ins on the ground and I am off to the snow blower. Never detected in the snow, but I have heard of guys and have a friend that takes the entire junk of ground with him and thaws it out at home. Talking about hardcore and into the hobby, Good Luck.........Pete[/QUOTE]
Knock on wood, still no snow.
Your friend is leaving an eyesore by doing that. Things like that can take our hobby to some bad places?

Then add in quality time with my son, don't get any better than that. Thanks Gary.

Congrats! Nice finds! Find something rare!
