Grrr! Someone's trying to steal my treasure!!!

So I posted an add for the ring(s) I found at the park. It's a small park so I just said the address of the street. I didn't write that I metal detect or that I found two rings... the last thing I want is someone detecting my park!!! I didn't describe them either. Someone replied; (I'll name him/her pirate)

Pirate: Can u send a picture of the ring? I lost a size 10 gold ring.

Me: Sorry that's not the ring I found. Hope you find it soon!😊

Pirate: How do u know it's not the ring? Is it gold or silver?

Me: Like I said, it's not your ring. It's not gold. Believe me I wouldn't have posted this add if I wasn't going to return it if I could. Hope you find your ring! Have a good day.


I bet Pirate didn't even lose a ring!!! He/she is a phony-balony. If Pirate responds again without a correct description I will NOT answer.

Good advice is if you do not want to sell or keep it, turn it in to the police.

Mvgirl the one problem is if you respond to them with a email you just opened yourself up to a lot of junk email because they sell it.
What I do is tell them to message me (through ad site) with their phone number and I will call (on do not show phone ID number) them to answer any questions.

If you post on Craig’s list you can remain anonymous while trying to locate an owner. But you have to expect a few strange responses. I recently posted a mans wedding band found at a specific park. One responder lost his ring either in his yard he said or in the city some 10 miles from this park. Another lost his ring at the park, he said, near “cabin 9”. Except this park as no cabins at all. All part of trying to get something back to owners.
