Was able to get out to a new site. A house built in the late 1700's. Was disappointed to see that 95% of the lawn was still snow covered and frozen. I am hoping by the end of the week that it will be mostly open. Didnt find anything too old. Was able to get a 1914 and a 1924 buffalo nickel. And a Navy button I am guessing civil war period? I will look in my tice book later to see if I can find a match. Its a nice button for the collection. My friend who was with me was able to nab a 1800 draped bust large cent. The place holds great potential, cant wait til the snow is completely gone.

Mainer,

Glad your getting out already. I walked the grounds here in Western Maine today only to discover that we have almost 18" of snow still. I thought we were nearly melted out... guess we are not :dontknow:!

Good finds by the way! :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumright:

Right here on the coast I would say that 75% of the snow is gone. Only in the woods and real shady areas of lawns and such. Now drive just 5 miles inland and its a different story. Springs coming slowly but surely. :icon_sunny:

Its like that ketchup commercial... I like newly acquired navy button. Arty
