Hi and thank you for your help. I just picked these up at a estate sale and thought they were cool. I have no idea what type of boots they are. They are leather. Have like a unique steel toe and and craftsman ship. Any thoughts. 2D650894-8738-49B5-80B9-D327C3219E13.jpeg 20117851-0351-4A2A-84FF-CB91E604A137.jpeg 86974E39-758A-48FB-A903-784888DF68E9.jpeg 8FC68A33-46F3-4064-A167-0C5CDEF61F1C.jpeg AE3B238C-F109-4ECA-AA22-E9874296C11B.jpeg 258A8CF4-FF93-4475-99A5-88B0579268A6.jpeg 258A8CF4-FF93-4475-99A5-88B0579268A6.jpeg

Look like vintage hiking/mountaineering boots.

Added: Impragniert is German for Impregnated. Most likely referring to being water proofed.

Yes, "impragniert" is German for "waterproof". With a steel toe, I would think they're more likely to be work boots for those engaged in industrial work... all the way up to saw-Mills, Mines, Steel-Works or whatever. Although I didn't actually work in a factory, I still have a pair issued to me around 40 years ago for use when I was venturing into factories. Mine don't have hobnails and were branded "Toe-tectors". Someone could drop a pallet on your foot or drive a fork-lift truck over it without crippling you.

Edit: just looked at your pics more closely. Do you mean that the toe itself has a steel-reinforced cap under the leather (that's what mine have), or are you referring to what looks like a "fender" around the edge of the sole at the toe end?

Thank you all for the help so far. And was the steel around the outer edges of the front of shoe have a purpose. As it is Steele toed inside as well. And there is writing on some, but cannot make it out. I forgot to mention these came from a estate sale and the owner was in the Korean War.

I believe Molewhacker is correct! They are vintage telemark style ski boots.

Those are really cool. The 39 is the European size, but you might already know that. I hope they fit!
