Help with ring I.D. With new pic added

Found this Friday at an old home lot.
Have no idea what it stands for, I have searched and searched.
I'm guessing German?
It has 2 marks on the inside, one looks like an "H", and the other the shape of a hat??
It is Silver and weighs just over 26 Grams

Do you think the first letter is a C or G? It looks like a school crest of some type.

the last time I posted what i thought about a crest it was like two other people were having a conversation, and I was invisible, and my "amateur" opinion was moot.


So I'm not going to say what's on my mind other than look for school crests.

I think the original guess is more in the ball park,as you say. German,maybe a district name and crest.

After a bit of research but nothing conclusive, I am guessing only;
It is Dutch and the name is a personal name, Camiel J.C. (Jean-Claude?) van West.
There is a Dutch Family Crest for 'Van West' but it costs to see it.

Any history of that surname in the area you found the ring?

Beat me to it Cypress Hunter, thats what I see as well and would think this was a family coat of arms.Just a guess though.

Just checked and this is not the coat of arms for the surname West. I do see what appears to be winged horses or dragons,1 on each side. Did not see those the first time I looked.

Don't worry about it Rando. I am batting about 0.045 in the identity category. Some of the guys here take great pride in being first and I kinda' enjoy the bantering back and forth. But you have to admit, there are some pretty sharp people here. I check every day mainly just to learn something mostly and once in a while I luck out and figure out what something is. I agree with everything you say Monty but the last statement. If you make the correct ID with a pic for proof, it will not and cannot be ignored. I always enjoy your posts Monty. 8)

Camilje van West perhaps? the C and W are Caps. je is a Dutch diminutive.

I am now wearing the ring, as it fits me perfectly.
