It's been a long time since I posted on this board. I haven't been hunting for quite some time now. I had to post this though... I was at a friends house and on his front porch was a rusty can. I noticed a bunch of dusty dirty arrowheads on it, so I walked over to it. It was a full gallon can!!! I dumped them out carefully and found loads of archaic gems! Now I'm from the deep south, and these types mostly aren't found here, but I do recognize the adenas, lost lakes, a kirk or two, thebes, a turkey tail and some other stuff. If I'm thinking right, I want to say these look like something from Illinois or thereabouts. Would you agree? My friend was cleaning out a barn for someone and hauling off the scrap metal and this was found among cans of nuts and bolts and other stuff that was being thrown away. It almost went in the trash! Talk about a lucky guy. I may get to sell these on consignment.

I need some close ups to ease my thoughts here! I'm not seeing any patina/dirt and I see several different types that appear to be made from the same material.

Was the barn in which these came from located in the South?

I've never seen so many complete ones

They are real. I have collected and studied artifacts for 2 decades, I can tell. I'm not saying that I can't be fooled by a fake, but I am saying I know these are real. The old man who owned the barn was a sharecropper. He moved from one area to another throughout his life. He was a hoarder and also has indian pottery in his house. Some of these have old putty type repairs to them, so this was his good stuff. The majority of broken stuff must have been kept elsewhere or chucked back in the field. From what I understand, back in the old days when these were picked up, the brokes got tossed back. The man passed away and his stuff is getting cleared out. I didn't take any close ups, all I had was my stupid phone to take pics with.

Enough said....thank you!

Jackpot is right! What a find.

Cool barn Finds!!!

Well, I posted this here already, so this thread being moved here just makes it a duplicate. I posted it in the garage sale section because of the possibility of selling them on ebay, which is a hot topic on that forum.

I do not think they are from South Ga but I could be wrong. I would sell them as individuals and someone may contact you here with some advice :). Great find. I have a friend with amazing Iowa stuff in an old crock pot. I can not get them to separate them out. They dump them out and in the bottom are pieces of ears! Very neat find

Lamoka points has a very close similarity to some of yours. Ohio valley and east. Gray flint can bee from BC... =ED

The two threads I had in different forums are now merged here, in case you read this and wonder why the topic is posted twice.
