How many use headphones?

The few times I forgot my Headphones I either Drove home & got them or Drove to Wallmart & bought a pair.

I would Never Detect without them.

Besides being a little hard of hearing, I hear the Whispers of Deep signals, only with headphones.

i wear them too, all the time.

I always use them , well at least 99% of the time. the only time I don't use then is when I take my parrot with me, he hate them an would just chem them up anyway. Also he gets excited when he hear a good signal :D. he on my shoulder in this pic. he bleands in pretty good with the sweatshirt. I go by the sound of a target more than by the # show by the machine most times

Hey Jeff can you speak a little louder I'm hard of hearing too. Found out last weekend I need better ones. The ones that cover the whole ear and block out all outside noise is what I need

Thanks everyone!

Maybe I need a parrot too! ;D

I bought a set from RadioShack for about $20.00 . They do have a volume control.

I use Koss and I love them. Any high impedance phones will work though. I prefer the ones that cover the whole ear too. Even though my ear area will sweat a little in the summer.

Phones also cut down on battery drain, too.

Just thought I would ask, I got a Koss UR.30 headphones, came with
a detector I bought from Kelly.... Are these even meant to be used with
a detector?....Clayton Ramey

If they came with it most likely yes.

I have a pair of KOSS From KCo.

Sort of since 1999.

They have Lifetime Warranties & it's actually My 3rd Pair FREE Replacement From KOSS, over the Years.

KOSS ROCKS !
when it comes to Service.

I use headphones with all my detectors except my Ace 250. It doesnt seem to have any weak deep signals. They are all loud. Its either loud or nothing. Has anyone else noticed this?

Just bought me a new pair of Koss's KW-Pro's from White's. Can't wait to try them out. Got a hell of a deal for $69.00. Headphones are a must have for deep targets.

Yes, there is no way to reduce the volume with the detector. You need a pair with volume control.

6 of one, half dozen of another with the ACE 250. No whisper there, either it hits or it doesn't. But, they do make your batteries last longer, and don't annoy those around you. But, be sure to get a set that have a volume control, the ACE will blow you ear drums out since there is no volume control on the unit.

(FYI, no whisper and the fact the 6x9 coil is really like a 4x6 sniper is the reason I don't like my ACE 250 and I am considering selling it)

I always use them. They cut out other noises, keep people from looking at me all the time, saves battery life, lets you hear faint signals, and allows you to hunt around others.

I know. What I mean is that my other detecters will give a weak, faint, whisper like signal on deep targets and I need headphones to hear them. My Ace250 does not seem to do this. The signal is always loud and therefore I do not use headphones.

ncjoe, you know what I mean. With the Ace its all or nothing. I miss the whisper targets. The Ace takes all the talent out of finding deep targets.

A must have and use in my book. Better ability to hear deper signals, saves battery life etc. Ther ere a few good ones out made by detectorists for detectorists like Detectorpro and Killer B's. You wouldn't go back to none once you use a good set like these. If you would like to see them check out my site.

I uses them all the time...don't want to bug other people and like to be able to hear the signal more clearly.

The over the ear type keep your ears warm in the winter too! The only time I don't use mine is when I am doing a demo for a prospective detectorist or playing with the kids in the yard. Monty
