Swung a large front lawn of a 1930’s home. It’s been swung a few times before. Didn’t feel like looking anymore, so why not!! Not much to brag about, but pretty happy with the little pendant/charm. Looks fairly old .
Any ideas as to what it could be Thank You in advance. Need help IDing it.
Happy Hunting!!!!!

My first thought was a seated Cleopatra holding a rose. I searched that & came up with a few links that are Cleopatra holding a flower but none of the ones I found were on a round pendant/charm & she is kneeling. The symbol on the back is baffling. If someone can figure that out it might lead somewhere. Here's a link to the image that seems to show up on a few other sites. Good luck in your search.
Interesting find ! Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/673862...a+symbol&ref=sr_gallery-1-6&pro=1&col=1&sts=1
Thank You!!!

Neat medallion/pendant. I don’t know what it was for (probably just a decorative personal adornment) but for sure that’s an Egyptian deity (on a throne) holding a ‘sesen’ (seshen) lotus flower.

The motif on the other side is an Ottoman ‘tughra’ traditionally used as the seal of the Ottoman sultans, each sultan having his own unique tughra. Curiously the tughra on the medallion is presented with a 90 degree rotation to its correct orientation. They’re notoriously difficult to read, but I’m pretty sure it's for Abdul Hamid II who ruled from 31 August 1876 to 27 April 1909... as shown below:

Egypt was under Ottoman rule until 1867 when it was granted autonomy as a vassal state with quasi-independence but remaining an Ottoman province until occupied by Britain in 1882. Abdul Hamid II was therefore the last sultan with effective control over Egypt.
Thank You so Much for the whole layout on this medallion!!! It’s so Cool the stuff We learn from this Hobby😁!!!!

Ottoman Empire (which included Egypt) rather than specifically Turkish, although the Empire's seat of power was Constantinople (now Istanbul) in Turkey.
So Much info!!!! Thank You!!!

Good ID. That's it for sure minus its original enamelling. Krementz were based in Newark, NJ.

The seller says it's from the 1900s but I think that may not be correct. The tughra (if I identified it correctly) can't be earlier than 1876 and, if Krementz borrowed a contemporary tughra, not likely to be later than 1882.
Thank You!!

Yeah and you know as well as i do that just because someone posted a description on something on the internet... doesn't necessarily mean its so.

Many times dates and descriptions online can be more "opinions" than factual.
For sure!!! Thanks!!!
