I can't believe this!!!!!

Well... I was leaving the house and spotted a dumpster.... And of course I had to look.... Before you see the pics, you need to know that I'm a carpenter..... I'm going to upload the pics now and I'll add descriptions later, but those who know what these things are will know why I'm so happy right now...

A couple more pics.... I don't know what the doodad is :icon_scratch: it's wood with an iron tip and an iron ring around it, I thought maybe some kind of wedge, but????

The brace and bits are really nice and something I'm probably going to get some use out of... The tri-square is just for reference....

Dumpster diving at it's finest!!! That's some cool stuff there! If that old duck call was made by those Duck Dynasty fellows, it might be worth more than everything else there, lol. That's a nice 10pt rack too, don't understand why someone would toss it. Craftsmen are always looking for antlers to make knife handles, lamps, etc with them.

Now that's MAD. He should have sent ROSE'S!!!!!!

don't know why someone would throw nice stuff like that away but Nice catch!I really like the rack.

Today was a rain day, so I decided to get te rack mounted up to hang on my wall. I used some antique yellow pine that I salvaged a while ago from a job. There's some people who kind of look at me strange when I grab grimy old lumber, but I think as they get to see what it turns into they'll know why I like it so much. You just can't buy new lumber that looks this nice....

First pic shows the rough sawn board and the piece after a bit of work, second is the near finished piece, I'm going to cover the skull with some leather, and outline it with brass tacks

Also with a whole lot of liquid wrench I got that old vise moving. I'm going to take it apart and do a full restoration on it soon and get it back to doing what it was made to do.

Awesome great find!

Great recoveries. Them blades and the draw knives alone are honkin finds.
The duck call and antlers ....
Can't imagine what the lot would sell for beyond my pockets ability , but why toss such value?
Dang shame the stuff gets pitched. People really are funny though.

like the old saying goes "one mans trash is another mans treasure"
Someone had NO idea of what they was throwing away!!!
Congrats on some FANTASTIC FINDS!!!!

NOLA, the neat thing about those old brace and bits is most have a ratchet so you can drill a hole in a corner. I used my Dads way back when.

I would definitely make time to go back before the dumpster is emptied. Congrats.
