I found another rare Confederate button! St. Timothy's Hall, cuff

I didn't know they made cuffs of that Confederate School. Last spring I dug TWO ultra rare St. Timothy's Hall buttons at a farm I had been digging not very far from where I live. They were a total shock. Saturday I went with another Tnet member (see other post), and found a lot of items. Had a great time. Late last night, I cleaned up the last button from Saturday, it was a flattened, toasted, never going to figure this one out kind of CW cuff button, When I got the dirt off, I saw a 5 pointed star on it with a ribbon beneath. Then I started to freak out. It is a St. Timothy's Hall button, from the same school John Wilkes Booth attended. It was found about 80 miles from the first two. They chances of this happening in this universe is zero. There are only five letters of the legend available, the star is just the outline, the center of the star is eaten through, the ribbon is clear. Sorry about the picture, button will be conserved after it dries out, and detail will be better, but the picture will not improve the button, but it is, what it is. I have posted a picture of one of the ones I found in the spring to show what they are supposed to look like.

And to Jeff-Gordon, this is what happens in my down time.And no, no dry spells. Took a bit of research to figure it out.

You just may end up with the whole set of those buttons!

As for the wishful thinking thing, i have learned (the hard way) be VERY carefull what you wish for, Somebody has a real sense of humor, snd He's not afraid to use it!

You are right, be very careful what you wish (and pray) for. Today a button, tomorrow a whole coat full of them. Once upon a time ago I found all the buttons from a CW artillery shell jacket. All those little buttons in one hole, it was awesome.

So.........I asked the Big Boss for another Confederate button......and I got a FOURTH St. Timothy's Hall button. Cleaning it now, no pushes, has the shank and a fair amount of gold, cuff size. I'll do something about a pic over the weekend. This one isn't dog food!

Wait, What? You dug a fourth one and this all you have to say? No pictures, just a short note like it was nothing to it? Just so you know I have been detecting since the early 70s and have never found a confederate button!

I will do it. Button is in the cleaning/preservation process. I'm going to preserve it but need to wait a few hours at least. Pic will be better though. I also got a 17th century buckle, my first.

ok, button is cleaned and conserved. Not quite as good as the two larger ones from earlier this year. But I'll take it. Let out a war whoop on this one, which I rarely do. I wasn't really expecting another button. Also, an 1865 Napoleon III silver 50 Centanimos (or something like that ) silver coin, about the size of a dime, a CW period flower cuff button with iron back and a very nice 17th century buckle to boot.
