I THINK I JUST DUG A GW BUTTON IN CANADA!

Sadly, I think the boat has sailed on this one.

Thanks everyone for the continued support on this once in a lifetime find for me I figure, and such a unique piece of history for up here in this area, I was just so lucky to get the coil over.
I guess it's one of those things that we :icon_scratch: in trying to figure out why a find goes up quickly and others seem to take longer or don't even make it up.

You will have more of a chance making banner if you log in once a year, then only comment on your own post like i see time and time again..Not contributing to the forum at all!!
UNBELIEVABLE!

Hello treasurenet
First time poster, first time banner
Happens all the time
Just sayin'

Well I for one, am disappointed.
:(

Well if it's not going to make the banner, the least they could do is move the thread to "the best of treasurenet" so it doesn't fade away into the oblivion of "today's finds".

Blaze I really many others think that sometimes it works that way it seems, not sure why some just seem to have the gift of posting and running.

Glad to see you're in agreement as well ironhorse, you stick around after a post up.

Does the Mods do that selection as well JC?

While we don't have any firm criteria, we follow these general guidelines...

Finds must be significant, and plausible.

Finds / posts must be RECENT.

If you have a Banner up there Showing, You cannot earn another till
yours is gone.

Images must be hosted on the TreasureNet server.

Posts with great stories are more likely to be selected.
If the post is one of the members first posts, it is less likely to be selected.

Finds must look good in the banner
.

Members campaigning for votes for themselves or others ruins threads.
Do Not Do IT !

Find must be found by a current TNet individual, YOU.

Making matters worst, is nominating your own find for the banner.

We don't count the word "Banner" in a Post only the ones in Reports.

We prefer "Rare to the Banner Finds" not necessarily "Rare according to the Books"

If you see one like yours up there now, it is not rare to the banner

Please note * Originality is important ! If We don't think your Picture looks different then what is up there, we will No Longer Count Votes till new photos are supplied.

*

For all Future Banner Submissions

""Willingness to share information " will be added to the criteria.

This does not mean members need to I.d. their hunting Spot.

This means if questions on the Object found, including but not limited to extra photos of the object etc. are ignored. Banner will no longer be considered.

If you are proud of your find(s) Please Take a lot of Pictures to choose from !

Banner Recipients should show that much Appreciation to those who voted and not be Hit & run Members.

These Rules may be Added to but Not repealed

Rules on banner...

There is no reason why this should not be up there..

You just made the case why it should be up there. :)

Can go down the list and put check marks easily on them all, except the one that folks say they voted banner/or worthy of being, and didn't submit the vote or reason.

They 'maybe' thinking this one:
''Members campaigning for votes for themselves or others ruins threads.

That is like saying don't campaign for elected officials in your country we will pick them for you.

Its hard to explain, but I think its the 'way' its done. Not saying this is the reason 'they' choose not to place it on the banner, only that it could be, because peoples passion on this one, 'could' be seen as badgering. Personally, I don't see it on this post at all, but its all perspective. (This is my best guess, as I can't see any other reason)
Over & out - because I'm now going off-topic which will also not help.

I didn't see anyone asking for votes. Saying a find should be on the banner is not campaigning.

They pick them absolutely...I have seen finds get 1 vote and be on for minutes and make banner..
