Does anyone know where I can get something identified. Yesterday I found what I believe is to be a piece of 8 but I would really like a second opinion. I'm located in middle tn.

You will get more than a 'second opinion' after you post an obverse and reverse pic of your coin.

I dug about 10 Inches deep. I'd be surprised if it was. With a jewelry loop I can make out the word empire and what appears to be Spain

Definitely not a piece-of-eight, but interesting. I'm curious what you find out about it.

If the 'coin' reads "Empire" in English (as you wrote in post #5), it's not even part of a Spanish piece of eight coin.
