IIX Coin/Not sure what the coin says

My husband found this coin but we are not sure if they mean anything or are worth anything... Any ideas??

It weighs 18 grams

if genuine it's a spanish silver 8 reales (assuming it's bigger than a half dollar) probably of the 1556-1621 variety. If it is genuine and a detector find, that's a 'woweeee!' But...I would get it checked out in person by more than one coin expert because these kinds of "pirate" coins are often faked.

An 8R would weigh about 27 grams; a 4R half of that. Yours, at 18 grams raises my red flag.

hum weight is too light for a 8 reale (27/ 28) and too heavy for a 4 reale ( 13.5 / 14) --sadly stongly possible its a fake most likely
