Yeah a few weeks on hunting I managed to find 24 of them and now today BAM 32 at one bank.

I have found 100.00 in them in the last week.Question about those,is it me or do they sound alot like silver when the clang together?Is it because theyre so big?

got 2 Ike's at a WF today just for the one in a million chance one might be silver. No luck. I'll probably spend them tomorrow at a fast food place and confuse another young cashier.

Nice find Bentfork. I too have noticed the increase in Ikes being found at the banks here. Have picked up a couple dozen in the past month or so. I think it's due to the economy, as more older folk here have been cashing in change they've been holding onto. I'm finding a lot more silver that's being cashed in lately.
One teller told me she was hoping that I would come in because I had skipped going to that town the week before. She had 16 Ikes and 31 halves set aside for me. No silver Ikes, but there were a pair of 1964 Kens, a pair of clad Ikes that were in such good condition that they replaced a couple of beaters in my collection, and one more clad Ike that I was needing for my collection.
I've not spent any of the regular clad Ikes that I've set aside yet. Probably won't unless I run short on $.

I picked up a bag of $180 of them at a small-town bank on a road trip last week. Alas, no real keepers there but at least I picked up a modicum of silver from other banks on that trip.
I'll probably eBay most of them.
I did spend one yesterday on a munchie yesterday at the store; the cashier dropped it and I heard "Ow" as it landed. Clearly she's not used to handling such heavy monstrosity!
(A warning about road trips - check your messages! I had gotten a call from a local bank last Thursday telling me somebody had brought in $1000 in halves. Who knows if it was dump or not. But by the time I got there two days later on Saturday, they apologized and said that they had already shipped it off since they didn't hear back from me!)
