I'm not shaving until I find a Mercury Dime!

This is my first summer of metal detecting.I've found silver quarters,old nickels,wheaties but not a Mercury dime.I've been concentrating on old ballfields and old schools.It's only a matter of time.I dug a 1953 Rosie at an honest 10" today with my CZ3D.That's the deepest I've ever found a coin.Summer is going fast so I better get busy,otherwise I'll look like the lead guitar player for ZZ Top.

I'm not exaggerating the depth of a find until I dig a lumber era date coin at a lumberjack camp!

The jacks quit this area about 1910 and so far all I'm finding are deer hunter drops post-1910.

This is a great idea...i've been coveting everyone's mercuries. If I stop shaving though I think my hubby might start to object!!! LOL

We should see a starting pic of the fuzz, and an ending pic when you find that merc.

Cool....We'll hold a Whiskerino!! (A beard-growing contest) Make sure you post some before pictures!!

I decided I won't pluck my eyebrows until I find a colonial copper. Unibrow...here I come!

I found my first half dollar today.A 1974 Kennedy Half.This isn't a Mercury dime but it is a first for me.My whiskers are really getting itchy.I was on my knees in a park digging a coin and an old couple came up and put some change in the frisbee I put my dirt in.I think they took one look at me and thought I was panhandling.Can I add that change to my coin total for the day?

I didn;t change my underwear for 2 monthes on a bet.I won the bet and the underwear went clunk when they hit the bottom of the garbage can.HH...Panz

Sounds like a good plan. If you are really serious then take a picture of you holding up the merc by your beard.

I would say that a merc should not be that hard of a goal but you do live in a more remote part of the country. Also, it seems like when you really try to find them you can't and when you are just "hunting" they show up.

I going to have a double shot of wild turkey after every MDing hunt till I find a spanish silver or gold coin -- then I'll have four or five of em == hey no one said you have to suffer did they?
