YES! "Hack saw and drill" on a ATPro rod, don't cut too short. You will need to leave room for the button spring clip that you can take out of the cut-off section.
Another option would be to try the Whites Heavy Duty Clevis kit, which is obsolete, but here you will need to epoxy the clevis into a shortened section of the ATPro rod.
Either way, a bit of ingenuity and skill in making your own modification. Good luck and let us see your results.

You see that wasn't even in my wheelhouse I'm not too handy if you know what I mean. I guess I always look at it as I'm going to have to buy the hacksaw and a drillbit and drill so if they already make one I don't have to do that. I guess you're already supposed to have that in the garage.
