Isn't anything sacred?

I believe we have all heard this little saying before, but I would have to say nothing is sacred for the most part. Maybe this is because my thought process is reversed from most people. Most people's thought process is "inside the box" and are asked to think "outside" the "box". (I'd love to meet the guy who came up with that slogan, and make his wheels spin) My way of seeing things is actually on the " far fringe" of the "outside" and just hoping to see the box itself, never mind what's in it

I am the type to look for humor in the most serious of matters. In any case, even if a bit morbid there is a spark of humor to be found. I look for that spark and just fan it until it goes full flame. I am not here to get depressed and feel someone's pain, I would rather try and look to the humorous side, make it a positive and feel good.

Where do you stand?

I've always thought that the worst thing that could happen is death. So what...it's natural...usually... Have a good time while you're here.

Middle of the night, those low sudden cramps, a swift course to the campground outhouse in bare feet, mosquitoes eating your face and a@s like a bragade of fire ants, flashlight won't work, no toilet paper,............man that was a real hoot!

I too look for humor whenever possible. My biggest fear is to say something really inappropriate during a serious time. Like two weeks ago when I attended the wake of a couple friend's Grandmother/Mother. The whole ride there I kept telling myself not to say anything stupid. I was there for a few minutes and expressed my condolences and had several family members aged 25 to 58 laughing shortly thereafter.

Unfortunately death is the best time to see humor.. I may have posted this before, but it just shows the way I think.

Jan 2010 - My ex girlfriends mother passed away and at the funeral parlor I came up with something sick, twisted and funny. My ex girlfriend, her sister and a few of their friends burst out laughing and all the others were just so solemn. You know how these funerals go, people walk in, walk up to the coffin to say their final goodbyes and a prayer. I told them that when I die, I want to have several recordings in my voice, with a little speaker in my coffin and have some of the following expressions.
1- I didn't expect to see you here
2- Thanks for coming.
3- This really sucks
You can get the picture, just have it on a loop and whenever someone kneels to say goodbye it triggers one of those sayings.

Feb 2010 - My aunt had passed and my sister asked me to get a bottle of Manhattan's which was her favorite drink to place in the coffin. God bless this woman, she had a Manhattan almost everyday until she passed. Anyway, I told the Funeral Director that the bottle was a parting gift from the liquor store she always bought from. I got one heck of a look.

So I am glad I have some company

have a "pressure mat " by the coffin that triggers the following sayings --when folks come up

Death hurts, it's devestating. But since life goes on, and funerals are for the living anyway. LAUGH! My husbands' family has it figured out, they hold a wake. they eat together, laugh, share memories and tears, laugh some more. go bury the person, cry some, (They've already done a lot of that anyway) and laugh some more. That's how the deceased would want it. That's how I would like it to be. Laughing feels so much better that crying, and it's good for you, 'cause you are still alive! I'm pretty sure the MAN who designed me, will understand

I don't worry about death because I already died once in the hospital after an operation in which the sleeping med. was dispensed to liberally! I was in the corner of the recovery room, on the ceiling watching a doctor yelling "breathe" while pushing on my chest. Then came the high voltage. It took 3 jolts to bring me back. The nite nurse told me they had called down and said I had died and to be there to back up the doc when he came down. About 3 minutes later they called down and canceled the message.

Oh, don't get me wrong, death is number #1 on the hit parade, but I am talking bout everything here from losing a limb, house burning down, etc... Why is everyone only fixated on death, when there is so more more out thee to make fun of

Wilson did have a very unique way of seeing the world. Now I am sitting here wondering if these people worshiping nothing, are are really worshiping at all

There were ads on TV in Balto. for a glass tunnel under the bay that led to a restraint. you could watch the fish while you finished your meal.
It got a terrific responce from people that wanted it's location.
After a week it was announced it was an advertising test and it didn't exist.

I think human life should be sacred

Our corporate run govt wants many of us to be disabled or chronically ill & to die prematurely, if that maximizes their profits. We've dropped out of the top 30 countries in life expectancy, even though we pay the most for health care. Best wishes, George (MN)
