🥇 BANNER It had to happen, Gold Sovereign !!!!!

[robfinds]

The local park as produced so many coins, that gold had to eventually turn up. I was though expecting maybe a gold ring. When this 1890 queen Victoria gold sovereign, came gleaming from below the turf, I didn't complain. The signal just sounded like any copper coin. Robert.

[robfinds]

Maybe you should just have it mounted to a gold ring! I used to have a gold sovereign ring when I lived in the UK.

Gold sov rings, where very popular . Not so much now.

Beer on you then Rob Mines a Guiness...great find.

Split two ways Colin, come down, will get you a pint any time.

I know you must have been hoping for a hammered, but doubt you throw this one back . Great find Robert!

Hello Bill, hammered give a signal on the Deus, that sounds like tin foil. In the park I simply have to ignore those type of signals. I dig the high pitch tones only. These tones cover milled silver coins, copper coins, silver items, and it would seem thankfully gold coins.

[Carolina Tom]

Congrats on a really spectacular find. Wow and wow!

[robfinds]

A truly awesome recovery. There have not been a lot of gold coins posted lately ,and yours is a very nice old one .What is the weight of your coin?

Hello a gold sovereign weighs 7.98 gram. Not weighed this one, our kitchen scales are not very good.

[robfinds]

Nice. Very nice. Big congrats Rob! So cool when you see this colour in the dirt!

Hello Westfront, I saw the edge of it first, and My heart rate increased a bit.

[robfinds]

Only had them in the fields, never in a park. Although I did get a half guinea in a sort of parkland setting behind a manor house. I think that's my only turf gold coin.

Anyways, BIG CONGRATS

Cheers Cru, just knew something gold had to surface. Didn't think sov though.

WOW!! That's the holy grail of detecting; a gold coin.
Huge congrats on that one. It's beautiful.

I love pulling gold from the ground. A little water just melts the dirt away and it looks like it was just dropped.
Fantastic find.

I was gonna' vote banner but I see it's already up there.
