IT'S DEER HUNTING SEASON

I went into the woods yesterday. There are a lot of people out there hoping to bag a deer. Well I didn't come home with a deer but I did get a Buffalo.
The brass Eagle padlock is an old Pennsylvania Department of Highways lock.

I'm not set up for an electrolysis application but I can let it soak in Apple cider vinegar for a few days.

I understand the hunting season worries. I wear an orange hat and vest when hunting fields and woods.

Even with orange on, I can’t shake the feeling that someone is watching me or that I might get popped by someone not careful enough to make sure they know what they’re shooting at. I just keep talking to myself and whistling to make it as obvious as possible that I don’t have antlers...

I wear an orange vest and a red toque. And I don't use headphones. Important to be aware of your surroundings and to be sure hunters know you're around.

Nice lock, be careful I know your out there trying to find stuff worth money but the hunters are trying to make a Buck too!!!! lol I tried!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the comments guys. The fact is that i was hunting in a park where deer hunters don't hunt. I saw lots of deer droppings and hoof prints but no deer or hunters.

Nice hunt, and not getting bagged. Our long rifle season has ended. Now it's just black powder and bow hunting. At least out in the middle of a large field wearing red it's a little safer now.

Great finds, ATW. That lock is really interesting and a Buff is always a great score. Not much timeleft before the ground freezes up like concrete. Gotta take advantage.

Nice finds! Deer hunters are a concern by the amount of modern lead found of all calibers and by the number of tree stands I see tucked away; I occasionally look up too. ha
