I've got a key date! Thanks Relicdude07!!
I was browsing through Tnet and saw Relicdudes post on his keydate Vnickle.Big congrats by the way RelicDude.
and I thought of the one and only V nickle that I have found .I says to myself ,Wasn't that an 1885. I took my worn coin bag out and looked at the V and yes it is!! 1885 in very poor shape. I had no idea it was a key date being that my coin book got lost in the move. The nickle is in no where as good of shape as RelicDudes and I am sure it is not worth much at all, but you just never know what you have found. Very cool. I did some civil war hunting about 15 years ago and I have dug hundreds of old coins but most were overseas so I kinda of feel like a newbe when it comes to US coinage. I am really happy and I just love this hobby.
Now if I just could find a silver quarter and a pocket watch life would be good.
Thanks to all and HH.
