I am looking for different opinions on possible Jesse James treasure location that I have been researching. It has to due with a painting, by Poussin.

The Arcadian Shepherds (Et In Arcadia Ego)

There are suppose to be two clues in this painting that reveals the location of Jesse James and The Lost Templar Treasure.
I have attached some photo's of the area I have been researching and studying that appears to match two clues I have pointed out in this painting. I feel that I may be really on to something. If not, it is definitely very close.

Poussin died in 1665.
Jesse James was born in 1847.
The painter was dead for 182 years when Jesse James was a baby.
More than 200 years separates the creation of the painting and when the stolen money was hidden.
Why do you think the much older Poussin painting could have clues to an event that may or may not have happened 200 years later?

Tell us more about your research and what you are finding. I live in the upper midwest and the Northern Cross rises to the northeast. It's a cool star formation.

I am sharing some photo's of the area I have found some artifacts & Jesse James treasure symbols & markings on rock's & tree's..
This location is on steep hill sloop & has a small creek that runs along the bottom of the hill along with a few springs that are coming off of the mountain. Also, this location is located about 1/4 mile or less to an old rail road track and old abandoned mine's.

Hello All,

Whenever you move a rock or a tree stump that has been in the ground you could potentially have destroyed a sign to a treasure cache. Look through the twisted double tree and take a compass reading. If something Is looking interesting shoot an azimuth from both directions. Use a pair of good binoculars they are an essential tool. They may help you see something from far away. I will include a few examples so you will understand the importance of leaving things where they lay. They could be the sign you were looking for? But since you moved it could place the next import sign off by several feet if not miles.

Bests in Treasure

Problem is all the trees posted don't look old enough to have been a marker or anything from that time. Simple math here. Jesse died in 1882, so figure 1880ish for a date to reference for best case. 144 years ago that tree has to be large enough to carve on or mark. Are any of these trees 160ish years old at a minimum? Sure doesn't seem like it to me.

Good point. A lot of treasure hopefuls like to identify Aspen trees with bark carvings as 16th Century Spanish treasure markers. Research the biology of Aspen trees and you'll soon see they are relatively short-lived. Easy carving surfaces though.

If I were going to use trees for markers, here in the Southwest I'd choose Junipers, which can have lifespans of 500 years or even more. Even the stumps of cut trees can survive hundreds of years, even wild fires. Damned near indestructible. Cut off a couple large branches for direction, leave a trail of big stumps, etc, and you're in business. Follow the breadcrumbs.
