I don't have a clue what it is, but I do know that usually removal of anything from a state park is against the law and could incur stiff fines. So be careful......

I was thinking your stone looks to be quartz, likely Tiger's eye, which is Fibrous gold to red-brown colored quartz.

There are many different varieties of quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones. Since antiquity, varieties of quartz have been the most commonly used minerals in the making of jewelry and hard-stone carvings, especially in Europe. Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth's continental crust, behind feldspar. Although many of the varietal names historically arose from the color of the mineral, current scientific naming schemes refer primarily to the microstructure of the mineral. Color is a secondary identifier for the cryptocrystalline minerals.
