i could have just posted the pic. lol what else did you want me to say?

ummm. what it's a picture of maybe ? Where ? Is it even on Earth or is it on the surface of Mars ? Why do you thing it's got alot of gold ? Why does it look more like a computer generated image than an actual picture ? Are you just messing with us ? Have you taken any drugs today ? How's that for a start ? What you have posted is an absolute waste of everyones time.. lol Or should we just start calling you the "Riddler" ?

well for starters i think the headline should have explained it fairly well. i was just showing a picture and any one who is into gold prospecting should know that the largest gold mines are in south africa. im very sorry that the camera the person used wasnt of high quality , if i was there i would have chipped in for a better one. the whole point of it was to generate conversation which it did:)

oh and also the meaning of impact you should know by now that gold doesnt come from this earth.

It is an open pit mine and I still have not had my coffee.

Cool ! Aliens... My apologies if this was a thread started for only that hand full of folks here who would know what you're talking about. I'm on my third cup of coffee & still dont. Carry on, I'll go find other stuff to read.

i dont mind a stick in the mud if it in the creek... the nice thing about this forum is that YOU have the choice to read and respond. have a good day sir and always happy hunting for your treasure because i am!

Maybe climb down off the high horse & try to educate those of us who don't know exactly what you're referring to from just a picture with no followup ? Maybe explain the theory that all gold came from space ? Some links to back up that theory so that those who enjoy learning new things can check them out ? Expand the group of people who follow these things instead of being an elitist and chasing them off ? Afterall if your intention was to keep your theories a secret then why post them on a public discussion forum ? Just a thought....

Emotional perception counts for 90 % in today's world - the facts 10 % (that was not a factual statement, btw). Oh, and 1st pic - its a magnified photo of my chin, after popping a zit when I was 15. :hello:

The largest gold mine in the world is the Gold Strike Mine in Nevada. They have recovered 39,000,000 ounces of gold from the time they started in the 80's. The mine employs 2200 people with the average wage of $80,000.00 per person.

Wow. That's pretty cool to know. Thanks for sharing AZ

What's amazing about Gold Strike Mine is the gold they are recovering is gold dust but the entire area is nothing but gold dust.

Word I hear is that you were never 15. Zit?

Over 106 million ounces and still counting. This is the largest producing I could find.

#1 | GRASBERG | 106,231,000 Oz Gold
Location: Papua, INDONESIA
At #1, Grasberg is the granddaddy of them all containing a whopping 100Moz+ of gold. The massive mine is owned by Freeport McMoRan but includes a sizeable sharing agreement with miner Rio Tinto. The site is located in the mountains at an altitude of 4,300 meters or 14,000 feet. In truth, Grasberg produces far more copper, by value, than gold and thus represents one of the world’s largest copper and gold mines. The operations consist of both open pit and underground mines, and have been in operation since the 1980's and the pit forms an enormous mile wide crater.

So how are we defining worlds largest? gold produced, size of mine, combined metals recovered, total sales, most employees, etc. Kinda a moot point... but given the choice of which mine I would want to work at would be Gold Strike due to their safety record and wages paid... Gold Strike at its widest is over 2.15 miles across and sits in the 5500 ft. elevation. Additionally there is two open pit mines and underground mines.
