I went for one hunt on Monday night, for an hour and a half, and one tonight. Top row in the photos is the buttons from the hunt before, two or three of the buttons in the photo may accidentally be from the hunt before that (all buttons from that site are together in one bag at the moment). Tonight I found the buttons in the bottom row and the tiny knee buckle, with an iron tongue still attach. Anyone have any idea what this buckle is from, maybe a doll?

I also found a little colonial fork, I still can't find a spoon and knife I found, I set it on a rock next to the trail, and now they are gone. I think the hikers may took them, or more likely, they fell in the leaves.

My camera died, so I can't take any photos.

Mine looks like this, minus the wood.

I've found a couple that size ,I think it might be a strap buckle or horse tack. I love finding buttons. Great hunt:headbang:

I agree with the ID of a small leather strap buckle. Still a nice little find.

Thanks everyone! It makes sense that it would be a strap buckle, thanks for the ID! I am going to the second cellar hole there today, for the first time ever.

That is a colonial breeches buckle, or so I was told by an advanced Rev War collector when I found one a few years ago.

Pretty standard size knee buckle, 1720-90, very common find over here. Circa 17mm-20mm is about right. 13mm wide is small.
