Late Sunday Evening Hunt

I set out around noon on Sunday to go hunt a field I spotted last week on my trip to Columbus to pick up my son from Ohio State. I went through the McDonalds drive thru and got me a burger and while I was setting there eating it the steam just rolled out from under the hood. I thought for sure I had busted a hose and called a wrecker to tow it home so that put a damper on that endeavor.

By the time I finally got back home I decided to just wait until after dinner to head out and I left around 7:00 to go back to the field. I got there and proceeded to walk the 3/4 mile to the site only to find it freshly planted in soybeans that were just barely poking through the ground so I decided not to hunt there and walked back to the truck very disappointed. I decided to try the site where I found my Pipes and the Flute and stopped by on the way home. I had about an hour or a little more to hunt and I didn't do bad.

I found a very nice Bone Bead that is very highly polished. One decent Triangle Point, a Marginella Shell Bead, and a couple broken points, including a Stemmed Point. I was going to stay around a little after dark and use my headlamp but the skeeters were so thick they were eating me alive and I had saturated myself in Deep Woods Off but they just seemed to feed off of it. lol
