I would like for everyone to post their hammer stones they have. I know the ones I find are either quartz types or flint types. If you know the lithic of the ones you post please say the type. I know everyone picks these up so dont be shy. They come in all different styles some are nicer than others by shape and design. I think this will be fun so post away! rock

That hammer is a work of art Tom. Id keep that one inside.

I know there is more people that keep hammer stones. Some are better than others but all did the same job at the end. Anyone else have some to post?

Picked these up yesterday. The second one is odd...totally flat on bottom and most of the cortex has been chipped off on all sides except a small strip on the very top.
 

I found this one last weekend. One end abused and the other it looks like it was used in the last week. Cool to see fresh marks on an old tool.

Here I one of my favorite hammerstones. I believe it has a orangish jasper core, and it has a couple of blank spalls.

I believe this one might of been used for a hammer. It has creek stain on it but it is a flint nodule and has a nice handle on it.

That looks just like a fossil coral one that TomClark has.
 

Most would call this a nutting stone...but I wonder if...

Looks like its been used as hammer by those wear marks
