Light Infantry and some silver!

Hello everyone,

Good day detecting today. Spent about 2 hours with no finds then later got skunked by Prolab69. He will tell you all about that. I later found a 1942 silver quarter and not to long after that about 30 min. I found a Oxford Shire & Buckingham Shire Light Infantry button. That seems to be in great shape, loop intact and all.

Yes it is in good shape, strange insignia. I hope someone can Id it.
I was thinking maybe it has something to do with oxford university.
I could be wrong though.

You've come a LONG way since the days of that cheapy dollar store machine you used to use, and all the hardships you used to complain about! lol (no offense or anything) but I do remember when you couldn't find a single silver coin/old piece of anything to save your life and complained about it constantly!

You've seemingly become a great detectorist since those days (not long ago) and that's a good thing - rgt!?

Its been some real great hunting lately. I am sure we have more to find there. I am also sure the button is a Irish Oxford Shire & Buckingham Shire Light Infantry button. My dad did some research on it. Silver is always nice its what I/we mainly hunt for, but you all know that. :P
