I got permission over email to detect a rental home from the 1800s. I wasn’t finding much, and it was getting kind of cold so I told myself: Ok, just do this last signal and then you can leave. It was reading mid seventies on the Garret ace 300 so I thought it was going to be a memorial back. I popped the plug and saw this beautiful Indian head staring back at me. :laughing7: A9BB34EA-6859-483D-A762-CF4748992F60.jpeg

That's awesome! They're nothing like detecting for hours and hours without finding anything...and then- wammo- something great comes out of the ground! Congrats!

You were seriously able to leave after finally digging a keeper? I've done things like that. It's getting late and I'm not finding anything cool...... Then, I tell myself it's time to go home, but "one more signal". Then, out pops a keeper and I'm rejuvenated and work it for at least another hour or until waaaay past dark.

GL next time out!

Thats pretty cool. Of all the coins have dug, have never gotten an Indian head yet. The hardest thing for me is to turn the detector off and go home or work when am hunting lol. Dig the last signal !

A lot like when you are fishing and say, "OK last cast." Then you catch a whopper. I'm glad you got your whopper! Congratulations!

Congrats on the Indian !

Had it happen to me a bunch of times ...
Cold, wet, tired - "OK just one more target then I'll leave" or "just another 10 min. then I'll leave" - then bang ... best find of the day !
This hobby is a lot of fun but to be successful you also have to put a lot of effort into it !

Good Hunting !

Beautiful. Satisfying find for the day, wasn't it? Whenever I find one of these babies (just recently pulled a 1905 IH myself) I always wonder....when was it lost
(at least what year) and what were the circumstances surrounding its loss.....fell out of a kid's pocket while playing maybe or an adult pulling keys out of his pocket while
the coin went with them.....night...day? Questions come to mind that can never be answered. But your reward was in the recovery. Congrats!
