My Father had a few arrowheads he found on his farm when he was a teenager! When he went off to college, my grandmother threw them away in the creek, or got rid of them, or buried them, or sold them – all these rumors I have heard all my life and everybody thought they were long gone! I have looked for this rumored treasure for years. My Dad was disappointed at the time because his mother thought they were a useless box of rocks, but it was important to him! Not too long ago, late one night, while helping tear my grandparent’s house down, with a flashlight, an old Sinclair Wooden Cigar box surfaced in the rubble under the center of the house. The house sat very close to the ground with no room for a crawlspace…My curiosity opened the box and WOW….with a rat or squirrel’s nest built inside the box over the years, (8) arrowhead points surfaced!! Then it hit me – this is the rumored arrowhead collection of my Dads!!! I brought the box to my parents and asked did he recognize it? He didn’t. As he looked inside, the smile on his face was priceless! He was 21 last time he saw the arrowheads, now he is 73. Which goes to show a rumored treasure can be found!!!! a11 003.webpa11 002.webpa11 009.webpa11 005.webpa11 008.webpa11 012.webpa11 021.webp

Wouldn't have been easier to tear the house down with a hammer or crow bar?:dontknow: Flashlights don't take much abuse!:laughing7:

Thanks guys!! Flashlight had it's workout :laughing7: for sure! Hee har!

your story warms my old heart, good on ya mate! where's redjamescash? I want to hug him

Awesome! When my brother died a few years back, in the joists of the attic was a lone Kirk point.

I guess both of you can now claim to have found them!:occasion14: What a great story you now have to tell! :icon_thumleft::icon_thumleft::icon_thumleft:

You get that house removed, might be worth running the detector over as well. Good luck.

That is such a great story. Thanks for sharing. I love the pic of him admiring his long lost treasures.

Great story. The look on your Dads face is priceless! Great memories made and re-lived

you have a nice set of white teeth BTW

Thank you all for the kind responses!

....yes, a heart warming story for sure and just in time for Thanksgiving......so, thanks for sharing it! :cat:

I might add that those are some nice points he found. And a wonderful story for sure!!

Hey Rod,
They are some real nice points. I especially like the striped one at the 11 O'clock position. Are they local finds?

Thats great what you did for your father. Tell him I said that red one on the left side has a wonderful color to it. Id get a Riker frame and put them in it for him that way he could look at them and remember how they were found.

Exciting recovery, and a well rewarded reunion. :notworthy: Bet the smile on your dads face was priceless when he got to see them after all those years. :icon_thumleft:

Awh Man! Tooo much!!!

The striped on at 11 O'clock position is also my favorite, all are local finds near family owned cypress tree lakes!!
