i thought i would post this knife image
i took this photo at the heritage center in central ND
i thought it would help illustrate how these blades were utilized by the northern plains indians

It's too bad that a person can not find any local museums that display any artifacts. If you went to the museum in Bozeman Mt. I bet you would not find one real arrowhead displayed. The last time I was there they only had one ''Atlatl and point'' and it was fake.

Very nice, how do they stay in such good shape? I cant find anything like that here in Ga. I guess red clay wont hold them.

note the handle with the hole in it
i first thought i had found a shaft wrench

the last one had a blade made from a piece of sheet iron in it
most bone handles had flint, chert, agate or jasper blades
the ones with metal blades were usually copper making this one very rare, especially with part of the blade still remaining
