Had to laugh when I pulled this out of the ground. Was found at an old San Rafael park. I was using my new MXT with the DD1400 coil and this kept jumping from dime to dollar. Was 7 inches down.

Turns out it is a 1897 1/4 Real, from Guatemala, is around .835 silver, around 10mm in size.... Pretty impressed that I was able to find this as I had talked to several guys that have MXT and some of them were saying that the MXT does not find Silver coins that well....

The penny is there for size reference..

Really nice. What mode did you have set on the MXT? I seem to have more sensitivity in "Relic". Kickergirl always says the nicest things doesn't she?

GREAT find! I don't have any trouble finding silver. ??? Can't imagine anyone saying that bout the MXT? ???

I always hunt in relic mode too...but been thinkin about switching over to coin/jewelry just to see....

Congrats! Nana :)

That is a really cool find, no pun intended.

Very nice~

Wow! That a pretty coin...and small! I bet they used to loose a lot of those.

A very nice find. I would love to find one. I also use a whites, but not the MXT. I have found that a signal that deep jumping between dime and dollar is usually a good target. That definately was!

Dude, any machine that would find that is worth having for sure. I sure wouldn;t worry about it finding anything else silver if she found that lil piece!
Excellent dig!

Thanks All!!!

I was using the Coin/Jewelry program, had my gain a little above preset and my ground tracking set to lock.

It was hard to find in the dirt as I was expecting a nickel size object!!
