Everyone is right, but it’s still hard to believe that one day a child will say the words, “What was money?”

I don't think that will be the question but you never know until it actually happens.

I hear the child saying something more like:
What did you use for money?

Don't let the narrow minded bankers fool you into accepting that ONLY their printed/minted tokens are the only money on earth!

"MONEY" can literally be anything that YOU hold valuable.
As an example, cigarettes were used as money, by GI's, in a few wars.

"MONEY" is only a tool:
A tool used to exchange value, between two individuals.
The best expose on money that I've ever read is called The Creature From Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin.

I suggest anybody interested in money read that book. It's a real eye opener for those that don't understand the underlying operations of bankers.

I'll finish this post with a quote from Thomas Jefferson:

Most Americans are "Right hand"ed and they can recite their SSN from memory (forehead)...
I'm sure most other developed nations have a similar system to track their tax payers.

I said that to myself just the other day.

What money was is stuff with intristic value. What money is now is debt.

The thing about using debt for money is that there will always be more debt than dollar bills used to pay debt. Otherwise you would be broke as opposed to being in debt.

"In debt" is the way they like you.

Isn't a "NOTE" an evidence of a DEBT?

With the advancement of smart phones, it will eventually become a cashless society. In the future no more coins will be minted, meaning at one point in the future history, coins will stop at a certain time by future metal detectorist.

What are your thoughts on this reality?

I'd argue that it does have actual worth. Hell, you yourself mentioned $6k earlier in this very thread. Where did you get that figure from, and what does it imply?

You may want a cashless society and for simple math to be scrapped from schools but the bottom line here on a metal detecting forum is this......

We don't want to see coins eliminated! We enjoy going out and finding them and at the end of the day do you know what we do?

Did I ever say that I wanted a cashless society? I merely stated that it's on the way. (In fact, it's mostly already here.) I then explained why. I also went on to make a case for when cashless transactions make a lot more sense than cash does, and some others provided examples of when cash makes more sense. To be honest, I'm fine with where we're at right now. Consumers have multiple options for buying things, depending on the specific conditions of the sale and what they're comfortable with. I don't think that it's going to stay like this forever though.

As a metal detectorist, I'd actually like to see more coins in circulation, not less. And I'd like to see coins with higher denominations in circulation - not just because of my hobby, but also because it would save the government money. That's why I went on my little rant earlier about $1 coins.

No, it couldn't be. According to T.C. and the Bible, you are not allowed to buy or sell without the mark. Is a SSN required to buy or sell things?

Hi, Australia stopped using 1 & 2 cent pieces 30 years ago and at the same time brought 1 & 2 dollar coins . The banking sector is bound by different laws to you and is accountable under the law . Most people use internet banking and cash. My state has a cashless public transport system for a decade. No queues no waitiing. Most places of business has all options . Sometimes there can be system problem but only for about hour.Smart phone is rather banking while mobile as too home pc or bank which is stationary . I like having options and my clad finds from metal detecting is quite good. The national debt is 19% to GDP. Something must be working right Tp

Metal detectors will always finds today’s coins unless they evaporate. There are billions of coins on this planet, they’ll always be there to detect. People in Europe regularly pull 5-600 year old coins out of the ground so I’m positive we’re fine for a while. I realize that modern coins won’t last THAT long but I’m not worried at all

Maybe older coins but with the coins nowadays they will be non existent in a few years the way they are falling apart right now.
