I was down that way quite a few years ago to see Def Leppard at the fair in Adrian. All I could think of while driving around there was Wow! I'd just love to do some detecting around here one day! Up my way there wasn't any major population until the lumber era began to wind down in the 1890s-1900. Finding a Barber's a big deal in my neck of the woods...but I have managed to come up with 2 Seateds and 2 LC's anyway!

I'm in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I see others are from Climax, Augusta, Battle Creek, Portage, Vicksburg...
We should try and get together this spring and summer. I have a good spot where an old house was around 1860's (tore down in 50's) and there's a creek nearby. (I found a clock movement just a few feet from the crick) But can only detect them before the crops get planted in the spring and after in the fall. Deer hunting messes this up a lot in the fall.
Our family has numerous farms in Kalamazoo and St. Joseph Counties. These have never been metal detected. I did "detect" the yard at the farm with a Bounty Hunter 202 years ago but that doesn't really count. Essentially these are virgin spots.
It's spring time guys, and gals! Let's go detecting! Give me a shout-out here or in a PM (Private Message). We've only got about a month to detect any hotspots in cornfields.
