Actually, that perfectly round one is more than likely a Concretion and not a Geode. All of the other stones look to be natural to me and not Metates, Nutting Stones, or Paint Pots. These are all actual Metates and Nutting Stones. See the difference.
I have one identical to your last pic grim what kind of material is yours ?

That's quite a collection you have laying around grim.

So here are some more with one of grims pics

Mine show peck marks inside all of those holes. I don't see that in any of your pictures. That is the difference.

Thanks for your time and information your the man ;) do you have a close up so I can see the peck marks on yours for a reference in the future ?

I've got one handy. "Nutting stone"
There is a divot on the other side also.
Painter... Do you have any with a divot on both sides?
Almost all of mine show at least some useage wear on both faces.

Here is a big piece of flint.. "compressed algae" look at the divots in the limestone cortex.

ForumRunner_20131030_231137.webp

Here is a chunk off the end of a nodule of some nice coastal plains chert.

ForumRunner_20131030_231807.webp

Here is the other side.
Notice how the natural divot is irregular and the material surrounding it has a swirled look.

Mine are nothing like that gator

This is recently quarried limestone used for erosion control on a local man made canal.
Add some water wear to this.
