Sorry to hear that moonshinner.
We lost our dog last year. She was 13 human years.
Bichon and poddle mix. Great dogs.
Our dogs mean alot to us and I hope you get another.

I am sorry for your loss.
I have lost 2 wonderful dogs and it hurts.

Have also lost all living relatives older than me.
That is another kind of hurt.

I would get another dog if I could.

I feel sorry for you. I understand the dog/companion attachment, but everyone needs a good mate to bounce off.

But a good mate ( and I take that as a guy buddy and not a wife type thing (but could be either)) is hard to find these days.

A dog only leaves when forced to. Will do anything for you.

Raise a puppy into a good dog and you will know how to raise children.

There ya go ! The attention span of a puppy and a small child are twice the length of what you smack them with .
Once you got their attention you love them enough that you never have to smack them again .
Same works for horses .
I've always had good dogs and horses and have been blessed with 4 children that any parent would be proud of .
Abuse any of these and the undertaker is gonna be packing your butt with cotton .
The few mates I have also have good dogs ,horses , and kids and feel the same way ...
