Nice coin! You must have excellent ground there, copper here comes out of the ground corroded and ugly.

it had a lot of patina on it,but i soaked it in hot peroxide and gently cleaned it with a qtip,in about an hour it looked as it does now, when it popped out of the ground i didnt know what it was.

Please explain the hot peroxide method. How hot is the peroxide? How long do you soak it?

Thanks!

i just heat the peroxide in the micro for approx 50 seconds,in a micro safe plastic container,i drop the coin into it,and immediatly it begins to fizz, thats the crud thats attached to it,after awhile it will stop fizzing, gently clean the coin with a qtip moistened in the peroxide. then rinse with clean water,do this as many times as needed,u can reuse the peroxide 2 or 3 times over.
