My Heart is a pumpin' after this.....
I had four hours to find a place to hunt while waiting for one of my exchange students to take a test for college next year. I had the pleasure to have a new friend (Michelle) join me for her first time metal detecting. We landed a great old 1800's home-site on our first try in the Grand Rapids area. I pulled some clad, (2) wheaties.... 1926 & a 1947 D, a pocket watch back... and the beauty of them all this officers sword belt plate. It looks like it ID's as an 1890-1920. After several tries in pinpointing it, I finally dug it up about 12 or 13 inches deep on it's side. It's a first for me...!!!
