I found this ring yesterday, in the same area as I found a WWI medallion a few months back......a little different looking at some thing....looking back at you.

Lately, if its weird....I will find it.....more gold would be nice but this is sure interesting piece of how it was in years past.

If you know anything about this....please let me know thanks

Weather is finally getting better here and decided to try a old homestead site that has been fruit full in the past. Only had about 1 hour or so of light left so I didn't waste time. I decided to try a little different area than inside the old remnants of a barn. Found a 1939 penny and thought that's about it for today. Then heading back, I got a signal. It was a high tone but different than a coin. It was bouncing around a bit but still a decent tone with mostly 3 green bars. I flipped it to analyze and varied to what it was...but still gave me a good wave most of the time. I decided to dig as light was fading. I dug up part of can about 6-7inches and thought that was it. Checked with detector again and bars were stronger and wave was very good! Thought wow....hear comes the silver dollar but numbers were off. I dug about 4-5 inches more and I came up with a can with some kind of lubricate/oil inside. I once read about a guy that found 100 dollar bill in foil container so I don't throw much away until I get it home. Put the latex gloves on and started cleaning the can to see if any coins inside the muck or maybe the can would be some kind of interest. Then, I got a glimmer! Thought it might be a lighter but to my surprise better than that. I believe it to be a Nazi belt buckle. There was no signs of the belt but after all these years....I guess there wouldn't be much. I had to clean the buckle about 5 times with solvent & degreaser and had to boil it. It came out pretty nice! This makes the 3rd WWII Nazi item that I found. Again, I'm not a relic hunter but....maybe I should change my way of thinking about that?

Thats hitler jugend buckle. Nice find and the ring also ! :icon_thumleft:

Awesome finds....I'd fall over if I found stuff like that!!!!

Have you researched the family that lived at the farm during the prewar through post war years?

This could have been a German Nazi sympathizing family, or had this stuff mailed to them from family still living in Germany. It still could have been brought back by a veteran.

I have done some research and will do more! I have talked to the family(german) and they are not interested in these items. I can imagine why. They are happy for me and I have given them a few coins...thats the deal we made....they get the coins and I get whatever else..In reason of course. Nice people but it was WWII time so things were different...to say the least. As far as they knew...no one in the family were involved in Nazi activities but who knows....maybe thats why I found them in the barn area and not the house. Some things will always be a mystery and maybe better that way!

Oh, and YES I will be going back!

reminds me of the cop face coming through the door on movie"terminator"

I heard a story in Ct where a friends friend bought a house and found a wwII german officers watch in the attic. He listed the watch in the right places and was paid cash for it. Enough to pay for the house!!! You'll find that this item will have its own following. Great find. Good Luck.

I hope someone trades me a house for the ring! ;D

Here is the the pics of all the finds ....plus 1 more! Its a 18kt wedding band and is engraved the year 1916...the same as the medallion......wow! All found in a 30 square foot area.

looks like hidden WW2 type era nazi german stuff -- someone in the "family past" might have been a nazi leaner / spy during WW2 --of course they do not want to "talk about it" and act surprized by the finds -- nazi spys here in america were often were given large sums of cash / valuibles to use to pay off folks for information , or if found out about to pay off folks not to turn them in with --- as well as for buying "supplies" with to make bombs and such --gold and silver were often given to them --as well as both real american money and top quality german govt made counterfeit money too. so keep a sharp look out --where you found these items at (in the barn area) --there might be more --much ,much more. :icon_thumright:

this 1935 era travel card on the MONTE OLIVIA ( shown below) was found during a estate sell on a nearby area farm * --it was inside a WW era ( may of 1943 *) farmer's magazine along with a batch of other WW2 era farmiing magazines everything in the box was from the 1943 /1944 era --the box had clearly had been in "storage" in the attic for a long , long time --it was dirt heavily encrusted and bug and rat eatten in places -

( german state supported nazi criuse ship trips were for nazi party members only ) they travelled to various ports including some caribbean and several south america ports--(the nazi's planted the seeds of their spy rings via these cruises)---the ports they visited while on these "cruises" --- later on during WW2 were found to be "hot beds" of german spying ---now why would anyone in the USA during the WW2 era keep a 1935 era nazi marked criuse pass? -- because its basically "proof" you belonged to the nazi party in 1935. --humm

but stop and think ---if one were a spy that travelled from south america to the usa illegally during WW2 to be a "spy" what better way to "visit" the local docks and military bases than as a "farmer" delivering food -- by asking seemingly innocent questions , much info could be found out -- uh need me to bring you more eggs next friday ? nah were shipping out thursday ---or if they asked for a extra large amount you knew they were "loading up for a trip" ---- exactly the kind of info german submarines laying off shore would want to know. --go home use the "spy" shortwave radio to tell em.

First off I would like to say congrats on all of your finds!!! They are impressive. One does have to wonder with all of your finds if its a possibility that there was a Nazi sympathizer who lived there at one time. Could it be a possibility that the individual who lived there was brought to the USA under Operation Paperclip? And if so, did they bury their Nazi memorabilia so that people wouldnt find out about their true identity? For those of you who do not know what Operation Paperclip is, it was an OSS (pre FBI) program used to recruit German scientists to the USA. Many of these scientists went on to have distinguished careers in NASA such as Wernher von Braun who was a member of the Nazi SS and Arthur Rudolph who was a rocket engineer and member of the Nazi party who helped develop the V2 rocket. Operation Paperclip, in my opinion, is what started the space race/cold war with Russia and has played a part in making America what it is today, which isnt as great as many Americans think it is. Nazi ideology still runs rampant in America today whether you want to believe it or not. I would recommend Jim Marrs "The Rise of the Fourth Reich" for more info on operation paperclip and post WW2 America. Of course none of this is taught in schools today because it would tarnish the image of what America is or is supposed to be. I think RFrady said it best in his reply to this topic... "Political correctness is a curse that masks the truth." Just my 2 cents...

ever hear of the "wehrwolfe" freikorps / SS Q 4th reich (hilter youth soldiers ) program and their plans for hiding nazi assets looted during WW2 to help "rebuild" the nazi party during their 4th reich movement?

or of the ODESSA network?

 :icon_thumright:

the OSS was a forerunner of todays CIA * the FBI already existed during WW2 (they fought gangster in the 30's during bootleg days "remember?")

I have heard of ODESSA...I believe it was a program that secretly shipped Nazi members out of Europe to avoid persecution/war crimes. As far as the "wehrwolfe" program...I cant say as Ive heard of that one, but I will have to look it up... And I stand corrected the OSS was a precursor to the CIA and not the FBI as I stated in my post...Thanks for the correction Ivan.
