I found this ring yesterday, in the same area as I found a WWI medallion a few months back......a little different looking at some thing....looking back at you.

Lately, if its weird....I will find it.....more gold would be nice but this is sure interesting piece of how it was in years past.

If you know anything about this....please let me know thanks

Wow! :icon_thumleft: That's a little spooky to find Hitler looking back at you. :o That's got to be a very collectable item. One of those bikers would like to wear something like that.

Um...really? People that ride motorcycles are Nazi's? Jeeze dude.

Expanding on what Kenosha mentioned above:

An early policy given high priority by the Nazi government was the organizing of all German businesses into cartels. The argument was that—in contrast to the disorderliness and egoism of free market capitalism—centralization and state control would increase efficiency and a sense of German unity. In July of 1933, membership in a cartel became compulsory for businesses, and by early 1934 the cartel structure was re-organized and placed firmly under the direction of the German government.

By 1937, small businesses with capital under $40,000 were dissolved by the State; labor unions had been dissolved, as were the rights to strike and collective bargaining. Unemployment was dealt with by public works programs of road-building and so on.

All property and labor power was now either owned by the State or, if still owned by private parties, subject to almost-total control. Businesses were told by the State what to produce and in what quantities. Prices and wages were set by the State.

And if anyone complained, a commonly used Nazi slogan put them on the defensive: ““Gemeinnutz geht vor Eigennutz!” (The common interest before self interest.) The argument was quite clear: You are not a private individual seeking profit or higher wages in a capitalist economy. You and your property belong in trust to the German people, and you have a duty to serve the public interest, even if it involves a personal sacrifice.

I see the WWII type German army helmets occasionally on some bikers. I'm not condemning all bikers, just the ones who wear this stuff. This kind of activity just may be more prevalent in CA?

Don't try to sell on eBay. They pull all Nazi memorabilia. Try to find a collector online. I concur, I think you will find someone that will pay big bucks for that ring.

On the gold or really valuable treasure thing. If I found Nazi gold, I would pay off my debt and donate the rest to the Holocaust Museum.

Could it be made by pushing the Face on a coin
or token Forward from the Back ?

Re: Let me know if you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....

Thanks all for your input! Not all bikers are bad......some are, some are not.....just like every other race, people or government.

Mackaydon....thanks for that info! I naturally don't agree with what was going on in the 30s etc but its very interesting to know what was going on and peoples mindset at the time.

Here's some pics of a medal(below)I found a few months ago and this site....forgive me but I hope theres more!

I don't believe this is a ring made out of a coin....it appears to be made just to be a ring. IT is possible that some one got a coin like this(if they exist) soldered it on a silver ring coin mount and then ground off the back(not counting the skill to do it). Then, you would have to push out the face(perfectly) to make its 3 dimensional form. It would take alot of work and do it so perfectly. I don't think someone would do this as it would take far less work to just make a ring. IT doesn't have the appearance of anything mounted...just one solid piece.

Re: Let me know if you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....

Jeff,

Thanks ...that is interesting! I have seen some like that before but again I think its different. ANYTHING is possible, given enough time and effort but again, why would you do it that way especially back in the 30s...technology as you know what not as refined & evolved at it is now. Seems that casting a ring would be extremely far less work to solder & mount a coin etc etc and again do it it so perfectly. Please find the coin in question and we can examine that possibility.

I have seen the kennedy type coin and they just are not made the same way....more pics to follow.

Thanks again!

Re: Let me know if you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....

I believe that translation roughly is "I give gold for iron to promote the strength" or something close to that. I can examine it closer later if need be.

Re: Let me know if you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....

From whats been emailed to me about the medal is that....they have been made as "collectables" possibly to this day...I dont know. Lots of things have been copied forever. This medal is the real deal or its a very very old copy....in either case it was in the ground for a very long time and being the the homestead was owned by german family....it makes sense that someone of the family had these and either lost them OR buried them at the time because being German at the time in the US was not looked upon well. Now, Ive found the ring so it all kinda makes sense.

I have some people tell me the medal is legit(bezel is supposed to be a key) but I think only a true expert will know this.....If you know of any expert...please let me know

thanks again!
