I found this ring yesterday, in the same area as I found a WWI medallion a few months back......a little different looking at some thing....looking back at you.

Lately, if its weird....I will find it.....more gold would be nice but this is sure interesting piece of how it was in years past.

If you know anything about this....please let me know thanks

Wow! :icon_thumleft: That's a little spooky to find Hitler looking back at you. :o That's got to be a very collectable item. One of those bikers would like to wear something like that.

Um...really? People that ride motorcycles are Nazi's? Jeeze dude.

I see the WWII type German army helmets occasionally on some bikers. I'm not condemning all bikers, just the ones who wear this stuff. This kind of activity just may be more prevalent in CA?
When some people think of bikers they most often think of the stereotypical of dirty, leather clad men with shaggy beards covered in road dust riding around the country wreaking havoc and getting into barroom brawls. The truth is that most bikers are not rowdy trouble-makers and are in fact honest, law-abiding, hard working people. After WW 2 vets rode around with their captured Nazi gear to show victory not racism. Even in Cali. the Hells Angels , started by vets.
However, there are small numbers of bikers who refer to themselves as “1%ers”. “One percenter” motorcycle gangs have been given this label because it is purported within motorcycle club circles that 99% of all bikers live within the boundaries of the law. Then there is the other 1% who rejects main-stream norms and live outside of the law, often engaging in highly criminal activity. Doubt if any biker would want a ring . A German helmet , an iron cross or armband would be a better sell . Cool dig !!!!

Re: Let me know if you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....

I believe the numbers 30.1 1933 stands for January 30, 1933 for it was on that date that President Paul von Hindenburg appointed Hitler as chancellor. Hitler immediately then began laying the foundations of the Nazi state.

There's a website : http://wehrmacht-awards.com/ where collectors of this type of thing hang out on the forum. send some pics out to them, and I'm sure someone will be able to fill you in.

Re: Let me know if you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....

thanks Ken and all others for the input and information!

Also...yes, I will be going back...I have found a few regular coins from that point in time also....hopefully there is more!

Re: Have you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....war ring

there were active bundists in this country prior to the war. they had rally's, march's, uniforms the whole
nine yards. could have belonged to one of them.

The bust of your ring is, Heinar Schilling, First publisher of the "Official Newspaper Of The S.S. These rings were given out to boys and girls who sold these papers, A permit, a better way of saying, issued by the S.S. More of a novelty keepsake today then $$$.

Re: Have you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....war ring

Hello,

Maybe you can explain more? From what Ive been told and seen of the ring myself....it is Hitlers face and not Heinar Schilling? I think you are looking at a different pic, not the ones I supplied. Ive been offered several hundred dollars for it and a dealer told me ...could be worth a lot more.

thanks J

Re: Have you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....war ring

As I said.....lately.....if its weird.....I will find it......I would like to have choice in what I find but it just doesnt work that way.

Some weird gold would be ok too but for now this is good!

Re: Have you ever seen one of these! No one has so far....war ring

Neat find, congrats. If it is german silver it is an alloy of copper, nickle and zinc, and contains no silver. Do a google search

Re: WWI ring.... Have you ever seen one of these???

Im still trying to find out if someone has seen or knows info about this ring....some have come close but still no conclusive info.

Re: WWI ring.... Have you ever seen one of these???

Hold on to that ring and do not sell it. The guys on this forum will not stop researching until that thing is identified. I personally think it is worth a lot of $$$. Congrats on this one.

Re: WWI ring.... Have you ever seen one of these???

Nice ring. I wonder what the story behind it is.

Re: WWI ring.... Have you ever seen one of these???

Thanks guys for your input.....

I do think its a rare ring as usually members find out info right away...this case seems to be different. It is probably worth some money and had some offers on it but Im keeping it for now. Being that I found a german medalion very close to this ring would tend to think that german people buried or lost these items many years ago. These were found in the shell of an old barn long since come and gone. No one had ever detected this property before me. I gave some coins to the owners but they let me keep these items as they dont desire them. Some either stayed in the barn many years ago and either lost of hid them and then time went by until I came to find them. Maybe nazis that no longer believed in the cause or maybe were scared being in the US. Who knows at this time? All I know is they are nice pieces of history and maybe profitable as well. I hope to find out more!
