Howdy all, just got my nokta simplex + yesterday. still reading up on directions & how to use. Completely new to metal detecting/treasure hunting/prospecting & I am looking very foward to getting out & trying this. any advice is greatly appreciated. Any where to go in San Diego ca for beginners would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks Have a great day.

yes, a buddy would be good for you - being a beginner TH-er, and all.
You chose the best machine, so now learn all about it..., read and re-read the owner's manual.
Guess before digging, see if you got the thing figured out or not.
Ask for permission to dig on private land.
