Hi, i am new to TH and looking for locations around Dallas Texas area to start with.
Also will be glad for people in that area that can assist with how to...Thx

Don't live anywhere near you, but there's got to be a detecting club or two in Dallas. Do a web search. Those folks can help you a bunch!

Drive on down to the Alamo - I hear they have a huge basement, and no-one
has ever detected in that basement. Some good old relics must be around there.

No - just kidding.
Try Google maps. All the parks and open spaces show up in green.
Easy to find, then zoom in with satellite view.
Also, do a search of things like "bike trails" "horse trails" "campgrounds",
"hiking trails" "fairgrounds" all with the word Dallas added, and you will have plenty of leads.
If you find a potential site, then zoom in on Google again, and you can check out the terrain
that way.
