I guess it was, never thought I’d dig one in Massachusetts. Have fun with the grandkids, I’ll try to line something up with you this weekend, weather should be good. Me and 2 buddies are headed out shortly.

A very nice find. Not every dy you find a NJ copper in good ole Mass. Congrats

Great find but also rare around these parts!!! Congrats on a nice state copper!!! ...collect em all!

Congrats on NJ. They did get around. I've found 8 of them in SW PA. But I'm still looking for a MA copper :laughing7:

Very nice! Congrats!

Sweet Copper!!! Congrats:icon_thumleft:

Congrats on the old copper recovery! :occasion14:

Joe, you are correct about your NJ being a 1786! I spent some time trying to get the variety today, after getting it verified from another NJ expert, your coin is a 1786 Maris 24R variety. Rarity 6!! For a NJ copper that is hard to get one, in fact out of over 11 coins in the NJ survey your coin is the first one of that variety!! A shame on the condition, but still a great find. Could you please either say here of PM me the State and County found in for the NJ survey I have been doing since 2004........... Rarity 6 = Very Rare Don
