OK SO UP UNTIL ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I HAD ALMOST NO INTEREST IN treasure hunting even though I've loved history since i was a kid. i was walking home from work, and i like to cut Through the woods so i can smoke, and because it's quicker. Here's where i lost my favorite ring cost me about 2g's, it was dark so i had no chance of finding it so i just memorized where it fell of and came back the next day. so i was looking the next day but couldn't find it, i decided it must have fallen in this small hole that was around where i was searching, so i go home and get a shovel and dig up the hole it goes on for a bout a foot then there is my ring sitting on top of a metal box. at first i was a bit scared cause theres a lot of power lines around my area, but it looked too old so i take it out with my ring an here is what was inside.
anyone have any idea what this stuff is? will post the rest of the pictures later

ALSO; now I'm kinda hyped to find stuff any legends/treasures/ stories about NYC or the Bronx/Yonkers/westchester??? and what a good Detector for a beginner

If I had your luck, I'd go to the nearest woods, close my eyes, and then I'd wildly toss that same ring out there again! lol

Too cool!

If you found that stuff in one of the Boroughs or in Westchester I would be real hesitant about going back. To me it appears it might be a cache of hot items that the perp might come back for in the future and you dont want to be swinging a detector when he comes back or your likely to get a shank in the back.

OK after watching this post for a while i think i will put a little input in.
This is how stuff is lost so we can latter find it.A person walking through the woods lost his ring in the dark and couldn't find it.This happins a lot just think how all of us find rings
someone lost it and could not find it whether it whet in a hole or rolled somewhere and could not remember the next day where abouts they lost it and just give up after a few hours and then ten or twenty years latter someone with a metal detector come buy and get s a hit a digs it up.
Maybe this guy just got lucky.....

In the Bronx/Westchester I wouldn't put it past being "acquired" and then "stashed", but most likely you are right.
