Here is a nice variety of Mandan finds with the point Larson wanted to see posted (comment he made on the Pottery Shard post). I'm sure you guys can pick out which one we all were excited about. T Witko has some pics of the actual find I hope he will post. Thanks again guys!

Just wanted to thank everyone for the comments and for the votes to make the banner:laughing7:!
Congratulations for finding that awesome banner making point. As coteau said "anyone can see the beauty" in that one.

With all the attention the banner point got the other nice points, blades and such in the pics kinda got overlooked. A very nice group of Mandan artifact.

In your frame, you have what appears to be the point off of a deer's rack. How do you determine if that is native American tool or just part of a shed? I found one a week or so back, and of course kept it, but had no clue of its age, and use if any.

If it was used as a knapping tool you would see use wear from the pressure flaking. Or... if it was a point there would usually be a bored out socket

That is a great group of artifacts. That is really a killer point. Those are some really beautiful finds. That is a interesting game piece with the X on it Simply. fantastic !!! Congratulations. Thanks for posting the interesting artifacts I always enjoy seeing them.

That third point from the left second row is interesting, it looks like they had either resharpend it some or they were using it as a drill
