Tonight was my one night a week hunt night so I talked Baldingboy into going back to a home we found some silver at two weeks ago. He didn't want to go because he is playing Mr. Mom this week but I twisted his arm and he agreed.

I had one heck of a night. Found three silvers! A 53 quarter in pretty good shape, a 1917 merc that I scratched, no the big ding was already in it when I got it out of the ground, and a 42 merc! Then I got a wierd signal and I dug down 8 inches and out popped the Buffalo Nickel!!!!! NO date but who cares!

I also found two wheats a 1917 in bad shape and a 1929. The pocket knife was about 5 inches deep.

I found some more stuff including a small button that I think went to a fancy shirt of some kind??? Several shell casings and some other stuff.

I also dug the Biggest piece of lead I have ever dug! It was about 3 inches deep on edge and the Beast kept screaming silver. I put the quarter on top for size reference. I also found some melted copper which is a first for me.

At 8 BB told me he had to leave so we started heading for the cars. I got one more good signal and dug the 1953 rabies tag! I had just found my first tag on Saturday so it was weird to find two so close together.

I have been have some good luck lately but I also dug over 80 signals tonight in about 3 and a half hours. The place is huge and we are going to go back soon.

Thanks for looking!

Very Nice. I just got done reading your other post thinking that you just need to keep hunting because you are going to hit the silver with the kind of stuff you are finding. I like when I get those earlier date Mercs too. ;D ;D

Yeah, those big lead pieces are a pain when they are deep. They sound soo good. :P

BTW - those old trucks you found previously were sweet too. :)

Yes Cynangyl it is scary!

I don't know why I have suddenly started finding the things I have but I just keep thanking th BOSS (GOD) for my health and this hobby and all my friends and on and on and on and I just keep swinging.

I know hunts like this won't keep happening and it will dry up some time or another but until then I'm gonna keep having fun!!!!!

That is a GREAT hunt. I'm happy if I can find just one silver anymore. I hope you and BB find some more goodies when you guys go back there

Glad to see you guys across the river are doing well. Great finds. Throw some luck over the water. HH

A very profitable day and some really cool finds.

Wow that's quite a cornucopia of finds :o That's a LOT of digging! Hope there's more where that came from. I found a few of those Missouri tax tokens..too bad they don't hold up well, I think there's some zinc in them.

If you want to make the Buffalo nickel more of a gray color, try putting it in a mixture of vinegar and baking soda..I did that to mine and it made it a little easier to see the detail.

HH,
Nat

Hello Me!
Wow, what as assortment of finds! I love it when this sort of thing happens to me as it's when I know me & the SE are one! Hummmmm ---- :)

I'm still not finding really deep coins. But the Beast is purring like a little kitten full of milk right now and I am soooooooooooooooo happy with it. The Sunray is even working like a champ!

I switched to ferrous tones and it seems to help me quite a bit with the good targets. I don't know if I should stay in ferrous or try switching back to conduct. Oh well I'll give it a few more hunts to decide.
