..due to a part shortage.

Now, when you finally receive your detector, would you be expecting only your detector, good as new, or maybe a little something extra
besides the detector?

Just curious...

Willie, If I was waiting that long I would be expecting something....

I can't answer that because nothing I own would ever be gone that long.

No Tank, unfortunately I am still waiting, but supposedly soon. I was just curious what others would expect in this situation and if it would be unrealistic to expect anything beyond just the detector.

Fair enough.

a year wait for parts ? -- you either have *A) a very old / rare machine (thus hard to get parts for --much like a vintage car)--or *B) one lame azz repair shop

if its A --well for keeping and using "old" gear thats the price you "pay" ---no crying allowed

if its "B" -- ask for your "item" back --and then upon getting it back -- forget their "name /number and address."

Re: Ok, so your detector has been in the repair shop for over a year now...

Would need more Info

If an old Detector & I Had a Backup
probably better to leave it there till the part comes.
instead of shipping again when the part gets there

If my only detector I'd be going insane & Would
probably own another by now,

if a new (Semi New) I would
have expected a Replacement detector
if the part didn't come within a Reasonable
waiting time.

without knowing the whole circumstances
I Don't Know if I Would
expect a Reduction of Cost,
Free gift, or Slap on the Back
of my Head ?

Too much info missing. How old is it ? Did you send it back to the manufacturer, a professional independant repair shop, or a guy who works on detectors in his garage ?

Willie, isn't this a problem that involves the water proof connectors Tesoro is having?

Newer machine. Purchased new on 9/3/2007. Tesoro Tiger Shark w/waterproof connector issue. The manufacturer of the part went out of business.

It was sent back to Tesoro May 11, 2009.

Re: Ok, so your detector has been in the repair shop for over a year now...

Call em up, demand a new machine since its been a year..that is ridiculous.

C'mon Tesoro! I knew people were having trouble with this issue but... geeesshhh! I have 3 Tesoro's and have called them several times with little issues and they just ship me parts for free no questions asked. This is not good. Good luck.

Absolutely !

Lifetime Warranty Right ?

They need to Replace the detector for you
with a New detector of Equal or Greater Value !

Maybe lifetime warranty means it takes your lifetime to get your detector back!

Tesoro has always seemed to be a good company for repairs but man they sure dropped the ball on this one!

You mean you sent your detector here in arizona?
your Tesoro?
Because we have a tesoro main company here...
